The protection of your privacy is extremely important to us. This privacy policy provides information on how and for what purpose we process personal data and explains the rights to which you are entitled. We are aware of how important personal data is to our users and adhere to all German and European data protection regulations.

  1. Processing by external service providers

In some cases, we use external service providers to process your data. These are carefully selected and commissioned by us, they are bound by our instructions and are regularly reviewed.

  1. Collection of personal data when visiting our website

When you use our website for purely informative purposes, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server if you do not provide it to us in any other way – for example, via our search function. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which we technically need to show you our website and to ensure stability and security. The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data is Art. 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

The data is stored in the log files of our system. This data can never be associated with other personal data of our users. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed to achieve the purpose of its collection. If the data is stored in log files, this will happen no more than seven days later.

It is possible to store the data longer. In this case, the IP addresses of users are deleted or anonymized so that they can no longer be associated with the visiting customer.

In addition, cookies are stored on your computer during the use of our website. See below and section 5 in this regard.

We collect anonymous data to identify and record errors and problems in our products and services. This data includes data related to program crashes. We use various third-party vendors to collect error logs. When using our website, various personal data necessary for the execution are stored on the technical infrastructure of the third-party provider for a limited period of time in encrypted form.

  1. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive, associated with the browser you are using, and through which the place that sets the cookie (here, by us) collects certain information. Cookies cannot execute programs or transfer viruses to your computer. They serve to make our offer more user-friendly and effective.

We set one or more persistent cookies to store the user’s settings and to make our website more user-friendly, to analyze user behavior and, if necessary, to perform web analytics (see below for this) or A/B tests (see also below for this). The legal basis for the processing of personal data by means of cookies is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a certain period of time, which may vary from cookie to cookie. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at any time. You can configure your browser as you wish and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. Cookies that have already been stored can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. Please note that you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent if you disable cookies for our website.

  1. Use of our website

HELPBERG search is a search supported by third parties. When a search is performed using HELPBERG, data is transmitted to Bing. Bing is operated by: Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, Carmanhall Road, Sandyford Industrial Estate, Dublin 18, Ireland (hereinafter: Bing). This is done to display search results and prevent fraudulent activity. The following data is transmitted to Bing during a search query: IP address, user agent string, search term, country and language settings, adult content filter settings, active search filter settings (e.g., filter search results by time).

Microsoft/Bing is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement “Privacy Shield” and thus undertakes to comply with EU data protection requirements. Information on data protection at Bing can be found here:

  1. Analytics

We use a secure and fully encrypted web analytics service operated by ourselves to analyze and regularly improve the use of our website. Through the statistics obtained, we can improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for this processing of your personal data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DS-GVO.

For this evaluation, cookies (see above) are stored on your computer and the following data is processed:

IP address
The website accessed
The website from which you arrived at the accessed website
The subpages that are accessed from the accessed website
Access status/HTTP status code
The time spent on the website
The frequency with which the website is accessed
Your click behavior on the website
This data is anonymized after a short time, usually after 7 days. The anonymized ones are stored for as long as necessary for evaluation. The data will not be passed on to third parties.

If you do not wish to participate in the measurement, you can disable the collection of all usage data by activating the “Do Not Track” setting in your browser.

  1. Objection

If you have given your consent to the processing of your data, you can revoke this consent at any time. Such revocation will affect the permissibility of the processing of your personal data after you have expressed it to us.

Insofar as we base the processing of your personal data on a balance of interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f DS-GVO, you may object to the processing of the data relating to you at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. In the event of your objection, we will review the situation and discontinue or adjust the data processing, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims.

Of course, you can object to the processing of your personal data for advertising purposes at any time. No justification is required for this. This also applies to profiling, insofar as it is associated with such direct advertising.
